[Paris, France – June 2021]
We’re proud to announce that Plantibodies has been awarded a grant through the PSL AAP Innovation Program, dedicated to supporting cutting-edge prototyping projects led by emerging entrepreneurs.
This award is made possible thanks to Bilal Mazhar, co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Plantibodies, who is an alumnus of PSL Pépite, the student-entrepreneur track of Université PSL (Paris Sciences & Lettres). PSL Pépite supports promising young entrepreneurs coming from the university’s prestigious academic network — which includes institutions such as ENS, Dauphine, Mines Paris, and ESPCI — with tailored mentorship, resources, and access to funding.
“We’re grateful for PSL’s support at such a pivotal moment,” says Bilal Mazhar. “This grant will help us move faster from concept to prototype and generate the experimental data we need to push our biotech platform forward.”
The funds will be used to accelerate the development of Plantibodies’ proprietary platform to mass produce plant based biologics faster, safer, cheaper. This grant marks another step in Plantibodies’ deepening ties with France’s academic innovation ecosystem, and highlights the importance of supporting deeptech ventures emerging from research environments.
